HOW TO GET STARTED AS A BEGINNER

If you are a total beginner and want to know where to start, here are 4 of the most common stretches used in Ballet, Cheerleading, and Gymnastics. The pictures above show you the natural progression of learning each stretch. However, there are some important safety tips to keep in mind.

1) Make sure to warm up your muscles with some light exercise such as walking or jumping jacks. Stretching cold muscles may result in injury.
2) Hold a sustained stretch for 10-30 seconds. Don't bounce when stretching. Bouncing causes your muscles to overstretch which may result in small tears in fibers.
3) Only stretch to the point of mild discomfort. If it hurts, you're pushing too hard. Slow and steady wins the race. It's easy to get excited and push yourself too hard in the beginning. Instead, focus on improving over a few weeks rather than a few days, and you are sure to prevent injury.
4) Breath normally when stretching. Don't try to hold your breath or preform special breathing exercises.
5) Get advice when needed. Check with your doctor or health professional if you have an injury or have had a previous injury and are unsure of how to stretch properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Does it come with instructions?
Answer: Yes, we have a full video training series and installation guide that teach you how to install and safely perform different exercises with the Stretch Best Door Flexibility Trainer.
Question: I’m a beginner and I’m not flexible at all, do I need to already be flexible to use this?
Answer: No, you don't need to already be flexible to use this trainer, but it does provide the most value when it’s used to achieve deep standing stretches. If you are just getting started on your journey to flexibility, we recommend incorporating some regular stretches with this trainer such as the quad stretch, calf stretch, lunges, butterfly stretch, and hamstring stretch.
Question: Why don’t I just stretch on the ground instead?
Answer: If your goal is simply to increase flexibility for the sake of it, then you can definitely just stretch on the ground. However, if your goal is to increase flexibility for ballet, yoga, cheerleading, dance, karate, martial arts, or other similar activities that require standing stretches then this trainer will be a great tool for you. This trainer lets you improve your flexibility, strength, and balance all at the same time. Whereas normally you would have to work on your flexibility, and then later work on strength and balance and end up taking 2-3 times as long to get the same results.
Question: How is this installed?
Answer: To install your trainer simply open the door, toss the short strap with the foam end over the door, and then close the door shut. Once the door anchor is secure, loop the long strap through the metal D ring of the door anchor and you’re all set! Installing and removing the trainer should only take a matter of seconds and does not require and drilling, holes, or damage to your door.
Question: Am I too young or too old to use this trainer?
Answer: This trainer is great for all ages. One thing to note is that it is very important to warm up before stretching and stretch with the correct posture to prevent injury.
Question: How long until I see results?
Answer: This varies per person because people are built differently, have different starting flexibility, and use the trainer for different durations. However, with daily use you should see results within the first 2 weeks.
Question: How long is the strap?
Answer: The strap is 2.5m or 8.2 feet.
Question: Can you adjust the end to fit your foot?
Answer: Yes, the loop at the end is fully adjustable to fit your foot or ankle.
Question: Does it damage the door?
Answer: This door anchor is covered with foam to protect your door, even with daily use you should not see any damage to the door or frame.
Question: Does it only work on one side of the door?
Answer: With regular doors, it can be used on any side. However, there may be some issues with irregular doors in which case we recommend putting the anchor close to the hinges, and using the trainer on the side of the door where you pull to close. You may also need to lock certain doors if they are irregular size, open both ways, and are very loose.
Question: What doors is this compatible with?
Answer: This trainer is compatible with all standard residential doors, as well as almost all irregular doors. On the off chance the trainer does not fit on your door
